The Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh has decided to run the concept of solar rickshaws in the city to make the city green and pollution free and the FM’s announcement couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time. The civic body is going to organize a lecture soon for the pullers to popularize the benefits of the solar rickshaws.
Some rickshaws has even already been acquired for this purpose and good response is also got by commissioner TPS Phoolka.. He said we hope to get more in future..Welcoming the FM’s proposal, nominated councillor MPS Chawla said, ‘The exemption will certainly help promote the concept of solar rickshaws.’ ‘With Chandigarh having highest per capita vehicles in country, solar rickshaws will definitely come as breather,’ said Charanjeev Singh, president of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal.
