Chandigarh: The police booked a group of persons of Sector 25 on the charges of rioting and causing hurt for allegedly assaulting their neighbours this morning.
The police said Kala of Sector 25 colony reported, alleging that Rinku, Saroj and Ravi along with others, hurled a brick at him last night and assaulted him. He let the matter go and decided to report the matter in the morning. Today he went to the residence of the accused along with his wife to inquire the matter when the accused assaulted them. He and his wife sustained injuries and the matter was reported to the police.
The police admitted them to the Sector 16 Government Multi Speciality Hospital. The police registered a case of rioting, causing hurt, criminal intimidation and trespassing against the accused, who are still at large.
Maninder Singh said the medical reports are awaited and sections would be included subsequently into the case depending upon the gravity of the injuries.
Motorcycle stolen
Atul Kumar Pandey of Modern Housing Complex, Manimajra, lodged a complaint with the police alleging that his Hero Honda motorcycle (CH-03-S-6934) was stolen from his residence last night. A case of theft has been registered.
