Chandigarh: Parking vehicle at Sector 9 parking lot turned into a nightmare for a Sector 11 resident whose car stuck into a ditch. After struggling for a while the poor resident called the traffic cops for help. The cops pulled out the car with the help of a crane.
Narrating the incident, Gurleen, a resident of Sector 11, told Newsline that today evening she had gone to Sector 9. As she entered the backside of the parking lot at Sector 9 her car stuck into a ditch as she looked for help the parking attendants were no where to be seen.
“It is suprising that they charge money from the commuters but they do not care to cover the potholes which creates problem for the commuters. Had the traffic police not reached on time to help me I would have continued to suffer for hours together,” she added.
All praise for the traffic cops who pulled her car out of the ditch, Gurleen said while the corporation is charging parking fee from the commuters, the better parking facilities should be provided to the commuters.
This is not the first time that commuters have complained about the poor management of parking lots. While the residents continue to suffer at the hands of contractors, the authorities concerned fail to take strict action.
